Job Description:

The Mission

Our client is a global biopharmaceutical leader currently operating with the technical ambition of a startup. They aren't just looking for someone to track dates in a calendar; they need a Project Systems & Infrastructure Manager to serve as the architect of their project plan ecosystem.

In this role, you aren't just managing a single timeline—you're building the engine that powers the entire portfolio. You will be the guardian of the ePlan (Planisware) environment, ensuring that as projects move from initial planning to active execution, the data remains bulletproof, the templates stay optimized, and the Program Managers are fully equipped to lead.

You'll have the freedom of a hybrid work schedule, with the added benefit of joining the team in the office, roughly 50% of the time.

What You'll Be Doing

Mastering the Portfolio Handoff

  • The Guardian of the Baton: Lead the end-to-end transition of project plans from Planning to execution. You'll validate that every plan is accurately modeled in Planisware—from study drivers to critical path alignment—ensuring a seamless handoff to Program Managers.
  • Optimizing the Blueprint: Convert existing plans into modern, high-performance templates that reflect current best practices, scheduling standards, and enterprise data quality requirements.
  • Cross-Functional Bridge: Serve as the primary point of contact during transition periods, facilitating alignment between Project Planners and Program Managers to resolve discrepancies or scheduling conflicts before handoff is finalized.

Scaling Team Capability (Training)

  • Instructional Lead: Manage the Planisware training program, ensuring all Program Managers—from new hires to existing staff—are equipped to master the system at varying proficiency levels.
  • Curriculum Design: Develop and continuously improve training materials, job aids, and onboarding curricula that translate complex system functions into clear, "real-world" guidance.

Driving Governance & Data Integrity

  • Governance Readiness: Partner with Finance and Resource Management to ensure cost and resource estimates are accurate and "governance-ready" ahead of major portfolio review milestones.
  • Real-time Visibility: Maintain a governance readiness tracker to provide leadership with a transparent, real-time view of portfolio health and estimate status.

What you Bring

  • Pharma/Biotech DNA: 3+ years of experience in drug development or PMO operations. You understand the specific gates and milestones of the industry.
  • The "Planisware" Edge: Direct, hands-on experience with Planisware is essential. You should be as comfortable with the technical architecture as you are with the day-to-day scheduling.
  • Systems Thinking: You have a high command of scheduling methodologies. You don't just "see" a Gantt chart; you understand the critical path, development scenarios, and the data standards behind them.
  • The Heart of a Teacher: You have strong facilitation skills and the ability to translate complex system functionality into accessible guidance for users at all levels.

Compensation: $70-$80/ hour

The final hourly rate will be determined based on the engagement model (W2 vs. C2C), as well as the candidate's specific experience, skills, and qualifications. Please specify your preferred tax terms during the initial screening.

About the Search: This search is being managed by Summit Strategic Search on behalf of our client. This is a contract-based assignment where we manage the recruitment and employment administration. While you will be engaged through our firm, the end client retains final authority over the selection of personnel.

Onboarding Requirements: Due to the regulated nature of our client's industry and the requirement for occasional on-site presence in Princeton, NJ, all candidates must successfully complete the end client's onboarding protocols (background check and drug screening).

Equal Opportunity Commitment: We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, disability status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
